Based on customer reviews, Silver Mountain Sports Club & Spa faces significant challenges regarding maintenance, customer service, and overall facility upkeep.

The only consistently praised feature is the private locker room, although even this is described as "shabby" considering the membership fees. The steam room, sauna, and indoor hot tub are frequently reported as being broken, indicating a lack of consistent maintenance.

Customers express frustration with the owner's apparent reluctance to invest in repairs or updates, leading to a deteriorating facility. The front desk staff is often described as unknowledgeable, which is attributed to inadequate training by management.

There is a sentiment that the facility has significantly declined over time and that the owner prioritizes maximizing profits over maintaining a quality experience for members.

Specific complaints include:

  • Consistently cold hot tub.
  • Rude front desk staff.
  • Overall poor maintenance of facilities.

Despite these issues, some customers acknowledge that it is considered the "best gym in Park City," albeit with a "low bar," suggesting a lack of high-quality alternatives in the area. However, this does not negate the overall negative experiences reported.

In summary, Silver Mountain Sports Club & Spa in Park City faces significant maintenance and customer service issues, leading to customer dissatisfaction. Potential members should be aware of these reported problems.

The only redeemable thing in this gym is the private locker room, even though it is also on the shabby side for what this place charges for the membership. The steam, sauna and indoor hot tub are always broken. The owner has a really hard time spending any money on fixing or updating the place. It is in shambles. The front desk staff is almost never knowledgeable which is a direct reflection of the lack of training by management. Truly sad as this used to be a great facility back in the day. It has really gone downhill. It doesn’t look like the owner cares too much about any of this as long as they get to squeeze as much money from their paying members as they can. Truly disappointing.

The hot tub is always cold, and the new girl at the front is EXTREMELY rude. Other than that this gym is just fine. Not sure if it’s worth the price but it’s the best gym in park city. (Low bar)

DO NOT COME TO THIS GYM!! ITS A SCAM! It’s supposed to be a high end gym and it’s NOT! I can never find a locker available. Half of them are broken and don’t work and the ones that do work are always locked. I have to take my bag with me to do a workout every time because there’s no lockers available. The bathrooms are disgusting. They are not clean, the showers are also not clean. Their machines are always dusty with sweat, not cleaned either. If I could give it a -1 star I would. I never write reviews but it’s terrible, it’s expensive and not worth it. Used to be nice years ago but went downhill pretty fast.

I commend the owner for trying to keep this place alive for the community, but I can’t hold my opinion anymore. This place needs serious attention. It’s dirty, equipment and facilities are broken permanently. There aren’t enough plates for all the equipment. I could go on. I also need to criticize their antiquated membership policies: charging for a barcode is just an unnecessary money grab, especially when they charge a second bar code fee to convert a winter membership to a monthly membership. C’mon. I already have a barcode so what’s the money really for? And the old 30-days notice to cancel is another made-up way to squeeze money out of members. There’s no valid reason why a membership couldn’t be cancelled anytime prior to charging for the next month. Five stars for a high-potential facility and effort to keep it running; one-star for its current state.

I would do a 1.75 but can’t. First I was not going to write this as I talked to a local in the locker room that said it’s relatively cheap for a month local membership. How ever he also concurred this place is getting to be a bit in shambles. The lockers were all busted, the shower heads all caked with lime and cracked. Cold. As. A fridge. Not relaxing by any means. The word spa in this complex’s title leaves me perplexed. Upon walking in you are treated with signs that will make the staffs lives easier. Not yours. I was also barely greeted and just charged an astronomical 32.50 for an hour in the pool. Which I did not know was outside and this poor older woman I spoke to on the way out ,through her borderline hypothermia and chattering teeth, told me the pool is not heating properly. Then in the pool it looked like I was swimming in the ocean in Atlantic City NJ. Plastic, trash, what looked like a tampon, and algae all surrounded me dearly. I think it’s time to address the poor older lady and the local who upon talking too flashed me into a scenario in my head where I felt like I was in the hunger games about ready to gain sponsorship. I imagine I at least get a nice gift of toenail fungus and also WHAT is up with the scents for the shower soaps. Hair=dial hand soap. Conditioner=English Mint Jelly. Body Wash= coral reef?? How odd and layered. Also the body lotion I am sorry to say is the scent of a new insole, slightly used, from a man’s sperry docksiders. I must say I hope this place turns around.
