Momentum Indoor Climbing Millcreek Introduce

Momentum Indoor Climbing Millcreek, located at 3173 E 3300 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84109, is a gym that falls under the GYM platform category, specializing in indoor climbing and related fitness activities. You can contact them at (801) 906-2132 or +1 801-906-2132.

Based on customer reviews, Momentum Indoor Climbing Millcreek is praised for its excellent staff, route setters, and climbing space, offering a wide range of routes suitable for all skill levels. It is considered an impressive facility, especially for visitors from out of town.

However, several concerns have been raised regarding the facility's maintenance and amenities:

  • Bathrooms: Customers report frequent malfunctions in the bathrooms. There is also a desire for improved bathroom and shower facilities, aiming for a quality similar to the Front location. The provision of towels is also requested.
  • Brushes: There is a consistent shortage of climbing brushes, which are essential for climbers and maintaining the holds. Customers highlight the importance of having an adequate supply of these low-cost items.
  • Weight Area: The weight area lacks signage to remind members to re-rack weights and return equipment after use. This leads to disorganization and a lack of gym etiquette among some users.

Despite these issues, the gym is recognized for its great staff and the variety of climbing routes, making it a valuable resource for climbers of all levels.

In summary, Momentum Indoor Climbing Millcreek in Salt Lake City offers an impressive climbing experience with excellent staff and routes, but potential visitors should be aware of the reported maintenance issues in the bathrooms, the shortage of brushes, and the lack of etiquette in the weight area.

I love the staff, setters and climbing space. Bathrooms - always malfunctioning in some way. Towels would be nice. In short, make your bathrooms/showers look like the Front. Brushes - it's incredible that there is always a shortage of brushes. These are lower cost items that are not only valuable for the climber but also the hold you own. The Fort Union gym had one brush for some time after opening. For the whole gym. . . Weight area - need signage to remind people their mom doesn't work here and to re rack weights and put away equipment after usage.

I’m from out of the area and only visit with a friend when in town. It is an impressive facility with a wide range of routes for all skill sets. Great staff!

I had the most amazing experience at the Millcreek Momentum! And it’s all because of Trevor. TLDR: Trevor was helpful and knowledgeable, he explained why my shoes didn’t fit and were painful, made educated recommendations on other models, and even gave me a pair of his to use! Full Review: I have just gotten back into climbing/bouldering, and bought some brand new shoes of FB marketplace, knowing nothing about them. True to my size, but to say they were tight is an understatement. However, I don’t know much about climbing gear so I figured they just needed to break in a bit… fast forward 1 minute into bouldering at Millcreek Momentum and I was in so much pain! I popped over to the front desk to grab a rental pair, cause there was no way I was ending my climbing session early. That’s when Trevor comes in, I said “Can I ask you how I know if my shoes are right for me?” And that’s all it took, he answered all my questions, as a self-proclaimed “shoe nerd”, explained why the shoes I bought were actually not very well liked in the climbing community, how they had been discontinued, and even proceeded to show me other brands and models that would be best suited for my climbing abilities. He told me all about Demo Nights at Momentum and recommended I come. But his 10/10 service doesn’t stop there! His next brilliant idea! He wears a size 10, and because of the type of shoe he likes and climbing he does, he often wears a 39.5 (W8) in climbing shoes. He offered for me to try a pair of his shoes for the day “if that’s not too weird of course”… but I was willing to try anything. After seeing how well they fit and how much more fun I was having he told me to keep the shoes!!! I pleaded with him “are you sure” and he never hesitated. Not only did I get a “new” pair of shoes, I made a new friend and enjoyed a fantastic night of bouldering. Thanks again Trevor, you can’t imagine how much of an impact your excellent customer service made. You deserve a promotion!

Loved the quantity and quality of climbing at this location. I had a membership at the Front for about a year and had never been to Momentum. After visiting, I can say I truly believe it is a more climber focused gym. There is just so much more bouldering, top rope, and lead climbing options than the Front. Really glad I decided to check it out. Hannah and Nataliya at the front desk did a great job answering all of our questions and making us feel at home. Thanks to you both!

This gym is fantastic. The first thing you notice when walking in is the scale of the massive lead climbing wall they have. The routes are always fun and the bouldering wall allows you to practice a wide variety of climbing skills. Currently they have a special deal- $39 for 2 weeks of rentals and a membership. I highly recommend it for anyone considering climbing as a new hobby! If you plan on top rope climbing, you’ll need to have a belay certification. The two week membership includes a free belay class so you can belay your friends! At momentum you’ll find -Bouldering -Top Rope -Lead climbing -Speed climbing wall -Free weight gym -Yoga classes All in all, the membership is entirely worth it if you’re looking for a new climbing gym! Routes are changed frequently and I appreciate the range of climbing levels they cater to. I started climbing at this gym and am grateful I did! Staff is super helpful and friendly and I’ve always felt comfortable asking questions whenever I need. Climbing classes and youth camps are also offered. I should also note that every climber you meet here is super friendly! Overall, Momentum is a great climbing gym for advanced and beginner climbers alike- come climb with us!
