I’ve been coming to Gowanus Fitness for about three months now. The staff and coaches are incredibly kind and interested in your performance. I feel such a sense of community going to classes and open gym here even though I’m a bit shy and introverted. I feel welcomed and leave with an awesome workout. The classes focus on hybrid training, so I think if you’re new to that—especially the weight training aspect—the classes can be a bit intimidating at first. But for all new and old members, the coaches are fantastic. They give you individual attention where and when you need it the most. They have a sixth sense or something (I’m looking at you Victor and Lyndsey). I’ve had so much fun doing all sorts of movements I wouldn’t have done by myself at the gym—handstands, ring rows, box jumps, crazy kettlebell exercises, sled pushes. The atmosphere is so motivating. After weightlifting and doing the treadmill for years by myself I was looking for something different, something focused on athleticism and mobility, and the classes here definitely fit the bill. I always look forward to coming, and I highly recommend joining.

I started coming here over the summer to add weight and strength training to my workout. I was new to all the big boy weights, the instructors helped me ease into the workouts without feeling intimidated. This is a community driven gym. Despite a group class, instructors really do care about your form and making sure you dont hurt yourself while still push you to get a full body workout in. You can tell Brad the owner and the instructors truly cares about your gym experience. Highly recommend for anyone who's new or experienced with strength training.

I’ve been a member of the Gowanus Fitness community for about a year. My fiancée (now wife) loved the classes so much and decided to do personal training with Victor in advance of our wedding. We’ve had a ton of fun training and can say that we’re both in the best shapes of our lives! Gowanus Fitness has plenty of space, the classes are well structured, the mobile app is great for signing up / viewing workouts in advance and best of all, the community is fantastic! I highly recommend Gowanus Fitness and their amazing team including Victor, Ivana, Brad and the whole crew!

I absolutely love my workouts at Gowanus Fitness! Every time I leave, I feel stronger and in a great mood. The team is super knowledgeable and really focuses on good form, ensuring you get the most out of every session. They're also incredibly approachable and genuinely try to connect with everyone who walks through the door. Their motivation through encouragement and kindness makes a huge difference. Plus, I appreciate that they offer the flexibility to roll over some classes if you can’t use them all in one month. Highly recommend!

Love what they’re doing at gowanus fitness! Been going since January and have definitely felt stronger and better since going. Coaches are super friendly and knowledgeable. Classes are well designed and relatively challenging but I always feel motivated to go. Open gym hours are a bit limiting (6-12 and 4-6pm M-F) but doing classes 2-3x a week should be good enough for your fitness needs. Would def recommend trying it out if you’re in the area!
